While you may think you know French culture just because you’ve seen Julie & Julia or discovered in middle school that the chorus in “Lady Marmalade” meant something dirty, there’s much more to the culture and language used by 200 million people in the world. The French Cultures Festival is a monthlong series of events in several cities, including Austin, Dallas and Houston. Houston highlights include a performance of La Maison de Bernarda Alba (Federico Garca Lorca’s last play), French food and wine tastings at Spec’s, a Springtime in Paris concert, a “Metamorphosis” art exhibit and – for those who have real brass balls – even a boules tournament. Various dates, times and prices. For a full schedule, visit www.francophonie-texas.org.
