Filmmakers Allen Mondell and Cynthia Salzman Mondell document the anti-Semitism currently growing in Europe in their film The Monster Among Us. As the number of Holocaust survivors dwindles, anti-Jewish violence is on the rise. According to the film, the increase in hate crimes and acts of violence can be directly linked to radical Muslim immigrants ย— and to the seemingly short memories of some Europeans. Sixty years ago, the world promised never to forget the atrocities committed during the Holocaust, but as the anti-Jewish actions once again flourish across the European Union, it seems society has done exactly that. The filmmakers will attend todayย’s screening, which kicks off the Houston Jewish Film Festival. 7:30 p.m. Jewish Community Center, 5601 South Braeswood.
