She may be down, but Slim Bloodworth isnย’t out. The local comedian is going through hell as doctors try to figure out what is causing her to, among many other terrible things, die. During a recent show in Canada, Bloodworth was rushed to a hospital where, friend and fellow local comedian Al Borzshawn says, ย“she flat-lined, went into cardiac arrest and diedย…seriously.ย” Since coming back home to Houston, Bloodworthย’s continuing battle has kept her in and out of the hospital, and for a working comedian with little to no medical coverage, this means her bills are piling up. Friends and local comedians are easing this burden with Making Ends: The Slim Bloodworth Benefit. All proceeds will help out the lesbian comedian Bloodworth, who is best known for traveling the world as part of the Dykes of Hazard Comedy Tour.

The benefit will feature nonstop stand-up by locals such as Borzshawn, Lil Brough (who was named Best Comedian in Houston Pressย’s Best Of 2007), Rob Mungle, Danny Rios (Houstonย’s Funniest Person 2006), Theodore M.E. Taylor, Ryan Thauburn, Nia DeBose and more. Even though Bloodworth wonย’t be able to make it there, Borshawn tells us that despite being in excruciating pain, sheย’s still funny enough to make him spit milk out of his nose. Looks like Bloodworth isnย’t ready to give up the fight, so help her get some punches in today.
