Itย’s anniversary time! One hundred and fifty years ago, Charles Darwin shifted the cosmic order with his book On the Origin of the Species. Mildredย’s Umbrella Theater Company is marking that gigantic scientific leap of the imagination with the upcoming production of The Third Side, a new play about a professor who finds himself in the soup when he dares to question Darwin. Todayย’s The Third Side Launch Party doesnย’t include a performance, but you can meet the showย’s cast and crew. Itย’s all happening at the very cool midtown Khonย’s, and according to Jennifer Decker, artistic director of Mildredย’s Umbrella, there will be ย“nibbles, happy-hour drink prices and door prizesย” including art, goods and services and, of course, tickets to the play. 5 p.m. 2808 Milam.
