The fake-doc movie (Cloverfield, Paranormal Activity) meets Porky’s and Superbad in The Virginity Hit, a new film produced by Adam McKay and Will Ferrell. Four teenage boys in New Orleans decide to make a video document, shot on cell phones and video cameras, of their friend’s deflowering. When the failed-attempt footage goes viral on the internet, the boys hatch a series of Jackass-esque plans to accomplish the mission, even if means enlisting a porn star.
Pubic regions, both real and synthetic, are respectively manicured and orally “manipulated” in this destined-to-be-classic of the teen-raunch genre, essentially the first feature-length YouTube video, which the Austin Chronicle called “repugnant,” and Entertainment Weekly called “blockbuster mumblecore.”
