For a preview of the musicians youย’ll be seeing in the worldย’s top orchestras for the next 50 years, donย’t miss tonightย’s performance by the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra. More than 100 of the planetย’s finest young musicians, ages 17 to 29, have been selected from among thousands and are coming together for a world tour. The musicians, who hail from 30 nations, will be joined by two distinguished elders, Swiss conductor Charles Dutoit and Argentine pianist Martha Argerich. Chopin Competition winner Argerich will perform Piano Concerto No. 3 by Prokofiev, then join the orchestra as they perform one of the Romantic periodย’s most important compositions, Hector Berliozย’s five-movement Symphonie Fantastique.
