You can just sense that the blip-hop backlash is almost upon us, and none too soon. Honestly, how long can an entire electronic music genre exist that sounds like nothing so much as some wasted dudes with a laptop constructing songs that sound like old video and computer game soundtracks? How long can it go on without having as many detractors as it has die-hard fans? Well, until that inevitable day comes, you can always check out the French-toasted Dat Politics, who will be in town to perform selections from their PC-programmed repertoire. But be warned: When you listen to them, you are certain to be haunted by visions of a Super Mario Brother running and jumping into pipe drains.
