To say I’m a little miffed is an understatement – I‘m actually feeling lonesome, onry and highly pissed off. My daughter, an Air Force Tech Sgt., lifted off for a six-month tour of duty in Qatar yesterday, leaving behind my two-year old granddaughter. As her departure time got closer over the past few months, the angrier I’ve gotten at the arrogant neo-con pricks who walked us off into two costly wars that have wrecked the national treasury and divided the country.
A few months back I played Steve Poltz’s “Street Fighter’s Face” (video above) for my daughter and her husband (he’s a USAF lifer too), and they both liked the tune a lot. Told from the point of view of a Marine in Baghdad — “with a swagger and a prayer we flew into Iraq“ — this song makes me want to take the silver spoon out of the President’s mouth, slap his clownish face and send his ignorant butt to Baghdad with a rifle and flak jacket. Or send him out quail hunting with Dick Cheney.
