While featuring guest appearances from a younger generation of femmes fatales including Macy Gray, Natalie Maines, Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow, it’s no superstar-a-go-go effort à la Santana’s Supernatural. Nicks is more than in control, with some of her best-written songs ever. And though her voice shows some wear from the decades of cocaine, Klonopin and 60 Kools a day, the huskier tone adds a gravity to the material. Thunder only happens when it’s raining, baby.
