Turkish-German guitarist Muhammed Suiรงmez started death metal band Necrophagist back in 1992, when he was only 17. Seven years later, the band’s recorded output consisted of only two demos, and Suiรงmez’s bandmates had quit. Suiรงmez recorded Necrophagist’s dizzying full-length debut, Onset of Putrefaction, by himself, and recruited an entirely new band, but label problems kept the record largely unavailable. Another five years went by before Suiรงmez, backed by yet a third set of musicians, finally saw wide release of his band’s debut album. Now headlining a massive tour, and backed by drumming virtuoso Marco Minneman, Suiรงmez seems to finally be on track.
