Some rappers happen to be thoughtful, intelligent people. Each week, Rocks Off will have some of them here discussing issues relevant to their culture.
This Week’s Panel: Bun B, Slim Thug, hasHBrown, Chane, Yung Truth, Preemo, Chuckway, Mac, Nosaprise, D-Risha
Not Invited: Amar’e Stoudemire’s braids
This Week’s Prompt: The NBA Playoffs started this past weekend, so we asked a bunch of rappers what the Finals match-up would be, who was going to win and how many games it was going to take.
Bun B: Spurs vs. Heat. Spurs* [win], but it’s going the distance.
*If there is a God in heaven, this’ll come to fruition.
Yung Truth: Thunder and Heat. Six games. Durantula [Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder] prevails. But honestly, I want to see the Clippers in that thing.
Chane: I haven’t really been tuned in. I know the Sixers are in, and that’s my team, so it’s Sixers all the way*.
*It’s really not.
Preemo: Heat and Spurs. Heat in six.
Mac: I really can’t say, but it will be the Thunder or Lakers out the West and the Heat out the East.
Nosaprise: It’s going to be Oklahoma City vs. the Heat in the Finals. As much as I want the Thunder to win, I think it’ll be the Heat in six.
Chuckway: Spurs and Heat. Six games. Spurs win it all.
D-Risha: Heat/Lakers Finals. Heat in six games. ‘Bron gets his first ring.
hasHBrown: Thunder vs. Heat. A day before the Finals start, LeBron James goes into hiding. Thunder win in six, Durant [is] Finals MVP.
Slim Thug: Thunder and the Heat. Miami wins.
