Rocks Off already mentioned this last week, but this is definitely worth re-tweeting, as it were. Tonight at House of Blues, Houston alt-rockers Pale – who, if one commenter is to be believed, have had better luck with the upcoming Twilight: Eclipse soundtrack than its New Moon predecessor, where they were bumped for Thom Yorke – is headlining a benefit for the Pershing Middle School students who lost their band instruments and belongings last weekend in a bus fire near Lake Charles on their way home from a competition in Orlando, Fla. A competition they won, by the way.
Some Pershing students will actually be opening for Pale tonight as well, along with the Classix. Tickets are $20 at the door. Rocks Off will have a report on the benefit, and some conversations with the Pershing kids, tomorrow.
6 p.m. tonight at House of Blues (Bronze Peacock Room), 1204 Caroline, 888-402-5837 or www.hob.com/houston.
