One look at the tousled hair and perpetually unlined faces of Chicago popsters the Smith Westerns (all 18-20 years old) and you might write them off as another Girls, albeit ones who never spent time in a cult. Luckily, an unexpected love of T. Rex drives their ’70s rockers, such as “Weekend” and “Imagine Pt. 3” off their first full-length, Dye It Blonde.
