If their new single “Golden” is any indication, the Tontons are about to beat the world into submission. The track all but jumps out of your speakers, with the four-piece hitting a pop-crunch stride fans had all been hoping for; imagine the early Strokes on steroids with a bluesy Debbie Harry at the helm. After Thursday’s gig, the band sets sail on a small-scale national tour which will take them to New York, Chicago and a few stops in the Southeast. From the rough mixes we’ve heard through the grapevine, we are all in for a revelation from the Tontons, who are getting deadly live.
