The Astros delivered on a massive series against the Texas Rangers and finally brought their record above .500 since April. Additionally, after the sweep of their instate rivals in dominating fashion, Houston took over the lead in the AL West, hold the division tie-breaker and captured the Silver Boot Trophy. Yordan Alvarez continued the hunt for the Triple Crown and surge as an MVP candidate.
