Best Beach: Galveston Beach at the Seawall
Texas beaches are some of the most unique and interesting in the world. Most aren’t the white-sand-clear-water variety, but they are alive with activity and absolutely fun. When Galveston ingeniously took on the project of widening (and in some case creating nearly from scratch) the beaches along the Seawall using sand dredged from the Houston Ship Channel, it didn’t take long before beach goers noticed that they didn’t have to wander far from their Gulf-side hotel to get to an actual beach. Entrepreneurs took advantage as well, renting chairs and umbrellas to happy visitors. It was a remarkable accomplishment and made the trip to Galveston even more fun than before the new sandy shores were enhanced.
