The Department of Public Safety really wants to get its hands on Bruce McCain, 51. He escaped from a Houston halfway house last week, and he's a violent sex offender.
DPS has named him one of the Top 10 sex offenders and Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward.
McCain was last seen near the Loop and Beaumont Highway about 9:30 p.m. Friday, a DPS spokesperson says.
He'd been paroled in May for two 1986 sexual assaults in Nueces County and had an electronic ankle bracelet placed on him.
But now he's gone. And dangerous.
He's described as 5-6, about 160 to 170 pounds (he's lost weight since the mugshot was taken, DPS says.)

McCaiin does have out-of-state ties which the agency is investigating.
