We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it’s time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we’ll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day’s work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

We wrote about Texas’s Brown Coffee Company, which finds itself in hot water because of an anti-gay tweet, and their hilarious defense of it.

One reader questioned the importance of the story, and another answered.

Mainly because it is a business and people have a right to know who and what they are supporting when they make a purchase. I always assume coffee shops are the liberal academic types – clearly this company is not open-minded. It is good to know where your money is going. FYI: This company also supports buying coffee from places that use child labor for harvesting.
