We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it’s time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we’ll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day’s work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

We noted how many ex-prosecutors were jumping for joy at Harris County DA Pat Lykos’s loss in the GOP primary.

One reader warned the county of what might be coming in her stead.

Celiu wrote, referring to Mike Anderson, the ex-prosecutor who beat Lykos, and former DA Chuck Rosenthal:

Chucky Junior will make Harris County the death penalty capital of the world again. Wait until one of you Anderson supporters gets caught up in a criminal case (however minor it may be) and only then you will see how “tough on crime” means you will get the short end of the stick no matter how innocent you are of the charges. Harris County is f***ed now. Start building more jails and prisons.
