Comment of the Day: Thou Shalt Not Criticize St. Biggio

We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

We wrote about how Astro announcer Milo Hamilton criticized Lance Berkman, who used to play for Houston and is now with the St. Louis Cardinals. In the process, we mentioned former Astro Craig Biggio's clubhouse-lawyer antics.

One reader agreed with that assessment but noted its unpopularity.

Jim C wrote:

"Ever since Drayton McLane took over the Astros, the team has gone along with Craig Biggio firing and hiring managers and dictating lineups..."

Seriously, John? Cause I've been saying the same thing for 15 years, but every time I say it I almost get into a fistfight with someone who thinks it's their duty to defend St. Craig.

I'd LOVE for Bidge to get a managerial opportunity one day, just to see how he reacts when he gets a chair thrown at him when he tries to give someone a day off.
