Remember that great Conference-USA championship game last fall at Robertson Stadium? The one that took place under a clear, chilly sky, before a packed, raucous crowd who rocked the house as the UH Cougars rolled over Southern Miss?
Never happened. Not according to The New York Times, which after all is supposed to be the nationโs paper of record.
The Times came out with its college-football previews Sunday, and UH was nowhere to be found in the round-up of likely C-USA contenders. Thatโs not too surprising, seeing as the Coogs have lost QB Kevin Kolb, whoโs now playing quite well for the Philadelphia Eagles.
But hereโs how the C-USA story began: โSouthern Mississippi (East) and Tulsa (West) look to be headed toward a rematch of last seasonโs title game.โ
Say what?
