Today is the start of early, in-person voting in Texas, a chance to get your ideas registered early and to avoid long lines on Election Day.

Particularly something to think about in a presidential election as contentious as this one. Former President Donald Trump faces Vice President Kamala Harris. Then there’s the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Ted Cruz and challenger Colin Allred, a Democrat and U.S. representative. As well as many judicial races and propositions.

Probably the biggest local proposition is whether to approve the $4.4 billion bond project the Houston ISD has put on the ballot. At issue: whether the new administration under state-appointed superintendent Mike Miles can be trusted. a number of organizations including the Democratic and Republican executive committees have urged voters to not approved the bond.

In Harris County there are 88 early voting polling sites. (There will be 700 voting centers on Election Day, November 5).Early voting runs from October 21 through November 1.
