After shutting down completely for Monday, the organizers of FIFA Fan Festival announced that on Tuesday they will re-open but not until 6:30 at night instead of 12:30 in the afternoon.
The continued rain and thunderstorms with the danger of flooding are to blame. The hours for Tuesday now are 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Over at Space City Weather the prediction for Tuesday is the possibility of heavy rain falling south of I-10 with two to four inches of rain predicted. Eric Berger of Space City Weather says there is a chance of a tropical depression or storm forming offshore and if so it would be named Arthur.
The good news, Berger says, is that the rest of the week may be calmer than originally predicted with rain totals not nearly as high.
