The Houston Fire Department reports that it had 30 elevator rescues today because of the rolling blackouts.

Normally HFD would handle two or three a day, spokeswoman Alicia Whitehead says.

The first call came at 4:30 a.m., and most of the action was between 7 and 10 a.m.
