And this just in: The Key Middle School students will move to Fleming Middle School next Wednesday, September 26, while HISD tries to figure out if itโ€™s got a toxic building on its hands.

Now for the good news as far as the kids are concerned: They wonโ€™t have school Monday or Tuesday, while the district gets everything ready. And they wonโ€™t have to make up the days later on in the year.

Teachers, staff and the Key principal will also make the transfer to Fleming, two miles away.. According to press spokesman Terry Abbott, thereโ€™s enough room in Fleming for everyone. Transportation to and from one school to the other will be provided each day.

And, up in Washington, Judith Kargbo, press secretary for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee is checking on the reports that the representative had planned to tour Ryan Elementary, an empty building on HISDโ€™s property list. โ€“ Margaret Downing
