A crowd gathered at Houston’s  Emancipation Park in the early evening Monday for the reveal of the “Say Their Name Memorial.” The installation displays names of individuals who lost their lives to police brutality, systemic racism, and social injustice. Creators Joy and  Elise Proctor started the memorial in Portland, Oregon on Junteenth 2020 and have since added memorials in more than 25 cities. Houston rapper, Trae Tha Truth led the effort to bring the memorial to Houston with support from several others. (Photos by Doogie Roux)
