We’re getting reports that the lights are out in at least part of Midtown, and that includes traffic lights that could affect drivers heading to the Southwest Freeway.

Centerpoint’s outage-tracker map does show some customers without power in the area.

We have a call in to them; we’ll let you know if we hear back. But you might run into some hassles if you’re in that area.

Update: Centerpoint’s Alicia Dixon tells Hair Balls:

We did experience an outage earlier this afternoon due to a problem with an underground power line. It originally impacted power to about 1,100 customers in the area; we isolated the problem and restored power to all but 2 customers around 5:30. Those two customers are now also back on. We will investigate to find out exactly what caused the outage.
