Mayor Lee P. Brown’s vision of Houston isย bass-ackwards, if this entry into an Internet contest is any indication. Brown was one of 31 mayors who submitted a photograph “that best captures the essence of his or her town” to something called the PhotoImaging Information Council. The “Portrait of America” series was featured on the organization’s TakeGreatPictures.com Web site.
A close look at the picture shows that Enron Field’s infamous Crawford Boxes, those bleachers that have been home to plenty of cheap left-field home runs, are somehow relocated to right field.
Representatives of the Web site could not, by press time, determine whether the picture was sent flopped or the mistake was made on their end. And the mayor’s office wasn’t commenting about Brown’s latest vision for the city.
