KTRH reports that “Galveston Island leaders are allowing residents to return between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. to check their property and businesses. Anyone who doesn’t leave by 6 p.m. could face a $2,000 fine. Residents must show ID with their address on it before they’ll be allowed on the island.”

Here’s hoping the rush doesn’t lead to even more craziness.
