Houston’s very own Tonya Evinger faced Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino during UFC 214, and the hometown was behind her all the way. Patrons of Pearl Bar on Washington gathered to show support and cheer her on during the match. Although Evinger was the first fighter to make it to the third round against Cyborg in four years, that’s also where she succumbed in the July 29 featherweight title match (18-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC).
