You think you know Dracula? Think again. In Texas Repertory Theatreโ€™s new production, the king of vampires is equal parts horror and humor, suspense and seduction. โ€œWhat [playwright] Stephen Dietz has done is to go back to the way the book was written,โ€ says Steven Fenley, the playโ€™s director. โ€œIf you read Bram Stokerโ€™s novel, itโ€™s all told in journal entries and news reports and little pieces, and youโ€™re asked to put the story together in your mind; and Dietz has really captured that. Thereโ€™s something thatโ€™s pure evil about [Dracula], and then thereโ€™s something thatโ€™s a little sad about him. Itโ€™s a monster of a play.โ€

See Dracula at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 7 p.m. Thursdays, and 3 p.m. Sundays. 14243 Stuebner Airline Road. Through November 11. For tickets and information, call 281-583-7573 or visit www.texreptheatre.org. $20 to $40. – Olivia Flores Alvarez
