Skatestock V went down at the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark near downtown Houston on October 28, with plenty of art, live music, skateboard legends and tons of skateboarding. Tony Alva, Wally Inouye, Steve Olson, Craig Johnson, Todd Prince, John “Tex” Gibson, Ken Fillion, Pat Black, Chuck Treece and others came out to skate and enjoy the day. Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, a skateboard activist, joined the party, along with current pro skaters Ben Johnson,ย Jagger Eaton, Collin Graham and Chris Russell. Local hotshots Max Peterson, Zach Castillo and Andrew Wallace tore up the park. Music was provided by DJ Roo,ย Funeral Horse, Giant Kitty, Khobretti, Residual Kid and McRad. The event, which raised funds for future events, included a helmet giveaway and custom designed helmet auction. (Photos by Eric Sauseda for the Houston Press)
