Southwest Airlines has created a huge amount of buzz among low-fare junkies this morning with the announcement of a two-day sale where all tickets cost either $30, $60 or $90 one-way.
As the Dallas Morning News‘ aviation blog puts it:
Southwest calls it “one of the biggest fare sales in the company’s history.”
Rick Seaney of FareCompare.com called it “one of the most unusual system-wide airfare sales we have tracked in [the] past five years.”
“For those who have been waiting for the cheapest fare sale of the year, I can’t think of anything better,” said Tom Parsons of BestFares.com.
The sale is simple — flights up to 400 miles are $30 each way; up to 750 miles is $60, and over that is $90. The low prices aren’t available on Friday or Saturday.
The other caveat : The sale ends tomorrow.
Flights have to be between September 9 — November 18, 2009.
So get clicking, fools.
