Hundreds of marchers turned out in Houston Friday afternoon to protest the death of George Floyd, a native Houstonian who died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for almost 7 minutes on May 25. The officer has been charged with murder in the third degree and manslaughter. Most of the marching in Houston was peaceful but as the day turned into early evening, members of some splinter groups blocked roadways and a highway and in one incident, smashed the windows out of a police cruiser.
