Conner Weigman accounted for 305 total yards and scored two rushing touchdowns to lead the University of Houston over Colorado 36-20 on Friday night. “A big win for our program,” head coach Willie Fritz said. “But if we want it to be a really big win we gotta keep going.”
The Cougars (3-0, 1-0 Big 12) got off to a fast start, scoring 13 unanswered points before the Buffaloes got on the board. UH controlled the time of possession (36:45), forced turnovers (2 interceptions) and kicker Ethan Sanchez made kicks of 52, 43, 47, 35 to guide UH to victory in their Big 12 opener.
“I love to come here and come to work every day and put it all on the line for my brothers,” Weigman said. “And I feel like we all did that for each other and when you do that, as a team, good things happen.”
