Homicide detectives are investigating the drowning death of a baby in southwest Houston.
Police said the mother told them she left the child in the tub at her apartment briefly, and when she returned the child was not responding.
The baby was taken to the hospital but later died.
The incident happened in the 7500 block of South Gessner about 9 p.m. Saturday.
