Best Brewery: True Anomaly Brewing Company
Beer. It’s why breweries exist. Craft brewers pour their hearts, souls and life savings into pouring you a perfect pint. Sure, the bells and whistles are nice when you can find them, things like a playground for the kids or a stage for the band. But at the heart of it all, there’s beer. If the beer’s not good, the rest doesn’t matter.
There are no slides for the kids at True Anomaly Brewing Company, though there are some aerospace blueprints and rocket ship models to gaze upon, as the brewery was founded by friends who met while working for NASA. There’s not a stage for bands, but dedicated suds-seekers sing the praises of the tiny brewery with the big, robust flavors. We’re especially wild about the saisons brewed by True Anomaly, offerings like Small Giant, a light, refreshing, palate-pleasing Farmhouse Ale. The EaDo brewery is also strong on sours, one of the styles which earned True Anomaly a pair of medals at the recent Great American Beer Festival. Those hard-earned accolades come on the heels of Brewery of the Year honors from the Texas Craft Brewers Cup.
Beer brewing may not be rocket science, but it is a science and one True Anomaly has mastered. The key is to focus on the beer, the heart of it all.
