After gaining a cult following since opening her tiny but mighty East End haunt and winning a James Beard Award for “Best Chef Texas,” uber talented chef Benchawan Jabthong Painter announced she’ll be moving her cult favorite Thai concept to a bigger location in mixed-use development the Plant. For now, you can try to score a table (or order takeout) at the original digs, where you’ll dine on true Thai fare big on flavor and quality ingredients — spicy northeastern style laarb with garlic, fresh herbs and cracked rice; perfectly balanced green curry in creamy coconut milk; and pad Thai with Gulf shrimp wrapped lovingly in an omelet blanket.
