Best Tapas: El Meson

The classics are sometimes the best. Take El Meson, a Rice Village staple for nearly half a century. It’s old school in all the best ways. Certainly they are known for classic Spanish dishes like paella, which is always an excellent sharable option. But, for the real Spanish delicacies, dig into their array of small plate tapas.

Personally, we are partial to the tortilla Española, those potato cake perfections; the cheesy croquetas; and the incredible piquillo peppers stuffed with cod bechamel. But don’t snooze on the ultra fresh ceviche or the morcilla, a Spanish version of Italy’s famous sausage and peppers. Whatever you choose from their two dozen tapas, which blend Spanish and Tex Mex, you won’t be disappointed.
