In today’s first look at the newly-opened Soup Cowboy in the downtown tunnel system, Nicholas L. Hall was disappointed to report that neither the soup nor the hand-carved sandwiches were particularly noteworthy, nor worth the long wait.
Commenter JarrodM mentioned something else that Soup Cowboy may want to tweak: its prices.
You didn’t mention the price-point. I think they’ll have a hard time competing when you’re paying $8 for a bowl of soup. That’s pricey even for the tunnels, as I can get a great bowl of gazpacho at Samba Grille for only $6.
Being a big fan of Samba Grille myself, I have to agree. Brave the downtown streets at lunch and your journey will pay off in spades there.
