The sign on the door at Hot Bagel Shop (2009 South Shepherd Drive, 713-520-0340) says “no pets allowed inside.” I guess they’re not talking about the dogs already inside…the bagel dogs that is.
They’re a great excuse to eat hot dogs for breakfast: a chewy, hot bagel wrapped around a hot dog smothered with yellow mustard and chased down with fresh black coffee. Most people who come into this little bagel shop on Shepard get a couple dozen of the mini variety.
Your other options are the jalapeno and all-beef bagel dogs, which are all better than kolaches because let’s face it, kolaches are just a small sausage. Bagel dogs, on the other hand, are the whole shebang.
