The holidays are upon us, whether we’re ready for them or not. While we’re busy decking the halls and jingle-jangling, we may forget a few items that we need for our holiday meals or parties. Just like the protagonist in Christmas Wrappingย by The Waitresses, we might be singing, “Oh damn! Guess what I forgot?” And off we’ll go to find an open shop. Perhaps we’ll also have a meet-cute with a guy we’ve been chasing all year. Or maybe we’ll end up tussling with another desperate procrastinator for the last can of cranberry sauce.

Whatever the holidays bring, the Houston Press is here with a list of holiday store hours to help guide readers to the right store for booze, gifts or latke potatoes. We even have a bonus bakery for last minute goodies for Hanukkah and Christmas.

Three Brothers Bakery will be open at all four locations Christmas Eve. However, for those who are even worse procrastinators, the location at 4036 Braeswood Boulevard will be open December 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The owners are calling it Chrismukkah because this year, the first night of Hanukkah coincides with Christmas Day.

The longtime Houston bakery offers an array of tasty treats no matter which event you are celebrating and we know plenty of people that will be honoring both. Three Brothers has traditional and not-so traditional baked goods for both holidays. There are gingerbread men, stolen, gingerbread house kits and fresh Hanukkah donuts called sufganiyot.ย
