Houston’s 34-year-old comfort food favorite Pappyโ€™s Cafeย will relocate to 12313 Katy Freeway at Dairy Ashford in spring 2018.ย The restaurant will take over the former space of Texas Land & Cattle Restaurant, a “craft dining” chain that sounds like it packed up its Houston location to go moonlight as a government agency.

Pappyโ€™s Cafรฉ will still operate at its current Memorial Village location, 9041 Katy Freeway, until the move. Owners Paul and Lydia Braden have been actively searching for a new location with their current lease about to expire, and in fact first revealed they would be moving back in September to Houston Business Journal; they just didn’t know where to at the time.

The new restaurant will grow in size, as the building features 6,870 square feet, including additional parking, an expanded bar area and two private banquet rooms. The current Pappy’s Cafe isย 4,100 square feet.

โ€œWe know there will be a lot of sentimentality with customers who have grown up patronizing Pappyโ€™s for 34 years at the current 1-10 & Campbell location,โ€ Paul Braden announced in the release. โ€œBut we hope our guests are excited for what the next chapter holds and will continue to dine with us at our new home. We may be changing addresses, but weโ€™ll still have the same old-fashioned Pappyโ€™s charm that our customers know and love.โ€
