The Bar at River Oaks Theatre

We recently caught a showing of Crazy Heart at River Oaks Theatre on West Gray. You know what we love about this theater? You can buy a beer here, and we don’t mean in a paper cup – you can purchase a beer like you would in a bar, Heineken for $5 to enjoy with a decent bag of popcorn. And the cliché of spending a small fortune at the theater doesn’t apply here. For the price of a medium Diet Coke at an AMC, you can get an imported beer.

Of course, watching a movie about a has-been country singer with a drinking problem might not seem like the time to be drinking beer in a theater, but hey, at least we weren’t sneaking a six-pack of Miller High Life tall-boys into Leaving Las Vegas! That was another time…
