Yaga’s Chili Quest & Beer Fest in the Historic Strand District

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The annual Yaga’s Chili Quest & Beer Fest is going down in Galveston’s Historic Strand District, kicking off with a 5K fun run at 9 a.m. and with fun including a cornhole tournament, Strand merchant walkabout (vendors open at 10 a.m.), margarita competition, and the main events, an indoor beer tasting (1 p.m) and chili cookoff (tasting begins at noon) with the opportunity to sample all the chili you can comfortably handle. Tickets are $16 for chili tasting and $43 for the beer fest.

Dolly Day at Truck Yard

Saturday, noon to midnight

Truck Yard will be having a hootin’ good time as it celebrates Dolly Parton this Saturday. Folks are invited to enjoy Dolly-themed drinks all day long, snap photos with a Dolly impersonator from 5 to 9 p.m., join the Best Dolly & Jolene Lookalike Contest at 7 p.m., and enjoy Dolly Parton covers and more live music throughout the day.

Brunch Launch at MAVEN at Sawyer Yards

Weekend brunch is now served at MAVEN at Sawyer Yards, featuring standouts like pain perdu ($16) with sourdough French toast and caramel ice cream, classic chilaquiles ($16), campechano ($22) with poblano, shrimp, crab and avocado, and the signature Maven Muffin (($14), an English muffin sandwich with egg, secret sauce and Canadian bacon.

Hop Topic World’s Annual Chili Cook-Off at Equal Parts Brewing

Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

This fiery chili cook-off features unlimited chili sampling, craft beers and the chance to crown the winner. Tickets are $20 to eat and judge, available online and at the entrance.

GLOW: A Wellness Sip Soirée at Plume

Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m.
1100 West 23rd

Celebrate self-care, connection and mindful indulgence at a Wellness Sip Soirée, featuring inhouse mocktails crafted with health-boosting ingredients like Lion’s Mane for focus and turmeric and ginger for their anti-inflammatory benefits; plus wellness vendors and a taste of Plume’s new Wellness Menu with dishes from Shrimp and Pineapple Chili Lime Satay, to Blueberry and Goat Cheese Bluzookie. The event is free and open to the public.
