Cinco de Mayo Weekend at Flora Mexican Kitchen

Flora is throwing a four-day fiesta with live entertainment, specialty cocktails and an epic patio party. The main bash is Saturday, featuring a live DJ, taco cart, satellite bar, mariachi band and free tequila tastings. All weekend, enjoy two exclusive margaritas and brunch with a live Spanish guitarist from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The party wraps Monday with all-day happy hour: $11 snacks like street tacos al pastor, $9 margs and wine, and $4 beers.
Brunch Launch at Chardon

Starting this weekend, Chardon is officially jumping into the weekend brunch game—and it’s coming in strong. Every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the swanky spot will be serving up a menu that hits all the right notes (literally, there’ll be a live violinist). Expect fancy favorites like caviar-topped deviled eggs, buttery pastry baskets with pain au chocolat and kouign-amann, seafood towers, croque madame, and crispy duck fat frites. Reservations can be made online.
11th Annual Kentucky Derby Party at Julep

Alba Huerta’s award-winning bar Julep is throwing its 11th Annual Kentucky Derby Party, bringing together over 600 guests for an afternoon of Southern elegance, fresh cocktails and fun. Guests can expect a floral wonderland with over 5,000 fresh-cut flowers, a full tented setup, multiple bars, live music, premium cigars, Instagrammable installations and of course—ice-cold Mint Juleps. Houston Tacos & Margs Crawl

Washington Ave’s best watering holes and kitchens invite folks for will thrilling fiesta-themed Tacos & Margs Bar Crawl. Expect tacos, margaritas and fun at spots like Sincerely Tipsy, Lincoln Bar, Clutch Bar and Sugar Room. Tickets start at $24.99.
Wine Dest: Derby Down the Bayou at Brenner’s on the Bayou
Saturday, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. (1:30 p.m. VIP)

Brenner’s on the Bayou’s Wine Fest, Derby Down the Bayou, is back. Attendees can sip from over 30 elite wines, enjoy bites from top Houston spots, and dress to impress for the Big Hat Contest; and after the event, guests are invited to stay and watch the race al fresco at Blue Bar. Tickets are $150 or $250 for VIP, which includes early entry at 1:30 p.m., exclusive pours and access to the VIP White House.
