Students Eat Free at Pluckers
From August 10-16, every adult entrée purchased at Pluckers comes with a free meal for one K-12 student. Kids 10 and under can choose a free kids meal, while students over 10 can get a free adult entrée up to $17 with a valid student ID.

The Finn, 712 Main, is helping Houston professionals ease back into the office routine with a complimentary drink. School Staff Discount at Molina’s Cantina
Molina’s Cantina is offering teachers, administrators and school staff 20 percent off their meals (excluding alcohol) at all locations. Guests can show a valid school ID when dining in during classroom prep week and the first week of school to receive the discount.

Sip & Skewer x Chef Ryan Lachaine Debut
Sip & Skewer, 707 Franklin, welcomes chef Ryan Lachaine for a six-course collaborative tasting menu celebrating Japanese live-fire cooking. Priced at $75 per guest, the menu features late-summer dishes prepared over binchotan charcoal, including masu crudo with grilled peach ponzu, cold somen with snow crab and binchotan-grilled sawara with sweet corn dashi beurre blanc. The limited four-seat chef’s counter experience runs August 14 through September 30.

Scenes from an Italian Restaurant at Bar Bludorn
Bar Bludorn, 9061 Gaylord, will transform into a neighborhood Italian restaurant for its Scenes from an Italian Restaurant dinner. Chef Aaron Bludorn’s four-course Italian-American menu is $95 per person and features dishes like antipasti salad, meatballs, chicken and eggplant Parmesan and tiramisu. Guests can also add an all-Italian wine pairing curated by wine director Evan White for $50, enjoy live piano music from Thomas Cokinos and order a two-course children’s menu for $55. Houston Restaurant Weeks
It’s back, y’all. Citywide dining event Houston Restaurant Weeks runs now through Labor Day, September 7 with prix fixe menus benefiting the Houston Food Bank. This year’s lineup features brunch and lunch options starting at $25 and dinner menus ranging from $39 to $59 at restaurants across the city. Since launching in 2003, HRW has raised $18.8 million for the food bank, providing the equivalent of 56.4 million meals for Houstonians facing food insecurity.
Pappas Restaurant Weeks
Pappas Restaurants launches its inaugural Restaurant Weeks with prix fixe menus across its lineup of concepts, including Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Pappasito’s Cantina and Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. A portion of proceeds from participating menus will benefit local food banks, including the Houston Food Bank.
National Delicatessen Month at Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen
Kenny & Ziggy’s, 1743 Post Oak, celebrates the 11th annual National Delicatessen Month with a three-course prix fixe menu benefiting Holocaust Museum Houston. The $48 lunch and dinner menu features classic deli favorites, with 10 percent of each meal sold donated to the museum’s education programs. Guests who purchase the special menu will also receive a complimentary ticket to Anne Frank: A History for Today at Holocaust Museum Houston.

Central Market, 3815 Westheimer, is bringing back its annual Hatch Chile Celebration with smoky, spicy finds from New Mexico’s famous peppers. Shoppers can stock up on Hatch-inspired products, including breakfast tacos, flatbreads, chicken meatballs, sauces, cheeses and more. A family-friendly Kids’ Sampling Stroll takes place Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Battle of the Burger at Rodeo Goat
The Battle of the Burger returns to Rodeo Goat, 2105 Dallas, with the Hatch Me If You Can ($12.99) and Radio G.O.A.T. ($13.99) competing for a spot on the permanent menu. The Hatch Me If You Can stacks Hatch chile queso, roasted green chiles, tortilla strips and avocado ranch, while the Radio G.O.A.T. brings pepper jack, prickly pear BBQ sauce and cactus fries. Guests can vote with every order.
Messina Hof Harvest Festival
Messina Hof’s Harvest Festival returns with vineyard events throughout August, including Moonlit Harvests with grape stomping and wine tastings, daytime vineyard experiences and special dinners, with events in Bryan and Fredericksburg through August 22.
