Campeche Tasting Menu at Caracol

Caracol’s Tasting Menu Series heads to Campeche through July 31, highlighting the coastal state’s Mayan and Caribbean influences with a four-course dinner featuring campechana, sopa de lima, red snapper en escabeche and coconut tres leches. Add an optional cocktail pairing designed for each course. The menu is $75, with beverage pairings available for an additional $36. 

Wednesday, July 22 

Spirited Summer Social at Rainbow Lodge

Rainbow Lodge, 2011 Ella, will host its Spirited Summer Social from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring a tasting of housemade sausages paired with beer, wine and cocktails. The menu includes venison and boar knockwurst with curry tomato sauce, heritage kielbasa with garden mustard and green chorizo shrimp sausage. Tickets are $65 per person.

Thursday, July 23

Master Whiskey Tasting Series at Bayou & Bottle

Bayou & Bottle, 1300 Lamar, continues its Master Whiskey Tasting Series in July with two upcoming tastings on Thursdays, July 23 and July 30. Each two-hour event includes a welcome cocktail, four whiskey tastings and light bites led by brand ambassadors and general manager Brianna Gonzales. The July 23 tasting features The Macallan paired with mac and cheese, while July 30 highlights Bulleit Bourbon expressions. Reservations are required.

First Anniversary Weekend at Bar Buena

Bar Buena, 2002 West Gray, is celebrating its first anniversary and National Tequila Day with a weekend of drink specials, taco deals and Lotería-inspired prizes. Friday and Saturday feature extended Happy Hour from 3 to 5:30 p.m. with $9 classic cocktails, $5 micheladas, $4 beers and taco specials, while Sunday’s Happy Hour from 6 to 10 p.m. offers half-off food and back bar pours.

Agnes and Sherman x Mister Jiu’s

Agnes and Sherman, 250 West 19th, will host a special ticketed dinner with San Francisco’s Michelin-starred Mister Jiu’s. The five-course seated dinner will highlight Chinese American cuisine through seasonal ingredients and classic techniques. A portion of proceeds from a signature cocktail will benefit the Chinese Community Center. The evening continues at Bar Daphne with cocktails, a live DJ and a chance to mingle with chefs Brandon Jew and Nick Wong. Tickets are $150 per person.

New England Seafood Boil Sunday Supper at Camaraderie 

Boston native chef Shawn Gawle brings an East Coast tradition to Camaraderie, 608 West 11th, with a three-course, family-style seafood boil featuring roasted corn succotash, shrimp, scallops, clams, sausage, potatoes and blueberry crisp with salted vanilla ice cream. The dinner is $45 per person, with an optional Clams Casino add-on and half-off bottles of rosé and Riesling.

Two Dine for $99 at Brennan’s

This July, Brennan’s, 3300 Smith, brings back its Two Dine for $99 summer menu, offering a three-course prix fixe for two available at brunch, lunch or dinner. The menu includes starters like snapping turtle soup or shrimp rémoulade, entrées such as petite filet Oscar, Gulf shrimp and grits or eggs Brennan, and desserts including Mississippi mud pie or bananas Foster, with select wines starting at $30 per bottle.

Kolache of the Month at Kolache Shoppe

Kolache Shoppe’s July menu runs Thursday through Saturday at the Greenway Shoppe and Friday through Sunday at the Heights, Memorial and Pearland locations, featuring a Lebanese sausage and Akkawi cheese kolache with za’atar, a Blueberries & Cream kolache, a Pearland-exclusive Piña Colada kolache and a Banana Bread Oat Milk Latte.

The Generous Pour at The Capital Grille 

The Capital Grille’s annual Generous Pour wine tasting returns through August 30. For $38 with the purchase of a dinner entree, guests can sample six Duckhorn Portfolio wines, including the limited-edition Duckhorn Napa Valley Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon and Goldeneye North Coast Brut Rosé. A six-course wine dinner pairing is also available for $125 per person.

My Hero Academia Collaboration at Trill Burgers 

Trill Burgers teams up with My Hero Academia for a limited-time menu celebrating the anime’s 10th anniversary, available through August 9. Guests can order The One For All Burger combo with a hamburger steak patty, demi-glazed beef gravy, American cheese, cabbage and onion and a side of fries; the Plus Ultra Fries topped with okonomi sauce, mayo, furikake and bonito flakes; a Detroit Smash Lemonade; and exclusive merch.

Hurricane Season Volunteer Opportunities at Houston Food Bank

As hurricane season begins, the Houston Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help assemble disaster relief boxes stocked with shelf-stable food, water and cleaning supplies for future emergency response efforts. Volunteer shifts are available at the Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall, Monday through Sunday, with morning, afternoon and select evening opportunities. Individuals, families and groups are welcome, and volunteers can also bring donations of nonperishable food items, particularly pull-tab canned goods, during their shift. Registration is available online through the Houston Food Bank.
