Final Farewell Dinner at Picos
Picos is marking the final days of its Kirby location, 3601 Kirby, with a farewell dinner featuring a multi-course tasting menu celebrating the regional Mexican flavors that have defined the Houston institution. Dinner is $95 per person, with an optional Herradura pairing for $45. Reservations are available at 6 and 8 p.m. Final service is August 30, with plans to bring the restaurant back in a new location.

Back to School Bash at Tacodeli Katy
Tacodeli, 19302 Katy Freeway, is kicking off the school year with a two-day bash at its newest Katy location, featuring live music, family-friendly activities, giveaways and food and drink specials. Friday brings live music from 5 to 7 p.m., while Saturday’s festivities run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a dunk tank, face painting, cornhole and more. Kids 12 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée, loyalty members get free small chips and queso and $5 frozen and rocks margaritas will be available all day. Tacodeli will donate 50% of sales from both days to Katy Taylor and Cinco Ranch high schools.

Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott
The annual Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting is going down at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, 1601 Lake Robbins, from 6 to 9 p.m. with more than 30 tequilas, mezcals and agave spirits, plus food, cocktails and a tequila education seminar. Tickets are $45 plus fees and include all tastings.
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo Family Fundraiser at Axelrad
Axelrad, 1517 Alabama, is hosting a 21+ fundraiser for the family of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., with live music and DJ sets, a vendor market and community. Axelrad will donate 10 percent of bar sales to the Araujo family, while Homies H-Town Street Food will donate $15 from every $20 Magnolia Park Plate sold.

Houston Restaurant Weeks
It’s back, y’all. Citywide dining event Houston Restaurant Weeks runs now through Labor Day, September 7 with prix fixe menus benefiting the Houston Food Bank. This year’s lineup features brunch and lunch options starting at $25 and dinner menus ranging from $39 to $59 at restaurants across the city. Since launching in 2003, HRW has raised $18.8 million for the food bank, providing the equivalent of 56.4 million meals for Houstonians facing food insecurity.
Pappas Restaurant Weeks
Pappas Restaurants launches its inaugural Restaurant Weeks with prix fixe menus across its lineup of concepts, including Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Pappasito’s Cantina and Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. A portion of proceeds from participating menus will benefit local food banks, including the Houston Food Bank.
National Delicatessen Month at Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen
Kenny & Ziggy’s, 1743 Post Oak, celebrates the 11th annual National Delicatessen Month with a three-course prix fixe menu benefiting Holocaust Museum Houston. The $48 lunch and dinner menu features classic deli favorites, with 10 percent of each meal sold donated to the museum’s education programs.
