Back for its 8th year, Latin Restaurant Weeks returns with participating restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and bars offering special dishes and deals. This year’s lineup includes newcomers such as Yuma, Casa Ema and Exilio Latin Flair alongside returning spots including The Original Ninfa’s, La Fisheria and Latin Bites. Texas Cocktail Week
Houston bars are joining the first statewide Texas Cocktail Week, running through Saturday, September 26. Participating spots will offer $9.99 cocktails along with guest bartender appearances, tastings, masterclasses and other special events throughout the week. Local participants include Aperitivo HTX, Bar Xolo, Eight Row Flint East, Jethro’s Cocktail Lounge, Nickel City, Starduster Lounge and Winnie’s, with guest bars from around Texas and beyond also making appearances during the week.

Cold Noodles Club at Eight Row Flint
Every Tuesday in September, Eight Row Flint Heights, 1039 Yale, hosts its Cold Noodles Club, offering cold noodle bowls from a rotating lineup of Houston chefs in collaboration with local nonprofit I’ll Have What She’s Having. Chef Niki Vongthong is up next, with bowls available from 6 p.m. until sold out. All proceeds will benefit preventive healthcare services for hospitality workers through IHWSH.

Pepitas Collaboration Diner at Agnes and Sherman
Pepitas, a new Peruvian pop-up from Craft Pita founders and mother and son duo Claudia and Rafael Nasr debuts with a collaboration dinner at Agnes and Sherman, 250 West 19th. The one-night menu focuses on Chifa, Peru’s Chinese-influenced cooking, with fried wontons, salchipapas, arroz chaufa and lomo saltado, plus Claudia’s alfajores for dessert. An abbreviated menu of Agnes and Sherman favorites will also be available. Reservations are available through OpenTable, with future Pepitas pop-ups planned around other regional Peruvian traditions.

17th Annual Galveston Shrimp Festival at Historic Downtown Galveston
The 17th Annual Galveston Shrimp Festival takes over The Strand with two days of shrimp-centric fun, including a Friday night party with fried shrimp, an open bar and live music, followed Saturday by a shrimp gumbo cook-off, Gumbo Stroll, live music, vendors and more. Gumbo Stroll tickets start at $19 presale.

Karbachtoberfest at Karbach Brewing Co.
Karbach continues its mult-weekend Karbachtoberfest celebration with Bavarian-style festivities through October 4. Expect huge Oktoberfest beer tent, half-liter and liter stein specials, German-inspired eats like beer pretzels and beer brats, live music, local vendors, Stein Hoisting and Pretzel Eating contests, Singo Bingo and the Sunday Wiener Dog Races benefiting Houston Dachshund Rescue.

Chefs For Farmers Food & Wine Festival at Autry Park
Chefs For Farmers returns to Houston for its fifth year with two days of all-inclusive food and drink tastings from local chefs and restaurants, including Hugo’s, Craft Pita, Loro, JŪN, Belly of the Beast and Guard and Grace. Held at Autry Park, expect premium wines and spirits, craft cocktails, live DJs and interactive experiences throughout the weekend. Single-day GA tickets start at $145 and VIP tickets start at $195.
Tokyo X at Reliant Center
Tokyo X returns to the Reliant Center on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 with more than 40 Japanese and Asian-inspired restaurants and food vendors, including JINYA Ramen Bar, Sandoitchi, Dumpling Haus, The Teahouse and Nikko Matcha Cafe. The two-day festival will also feature a Ramen Eating Contest along with other food-focused programming and culinary experiences. Tickets start at $35.

Better Together: Oktoberfest Sunday Supper at Camaraderie
Camaraderie, 608 West 11th, continues its Better Together’ event series with an Oktoberfest Sunday Supper. Enjoy a family-style menu ($45 per person) with bites from golden pretzels and crispy Jägerschnitzel to housemade spaetzle and warm apple strudel.

Hunger Action Month at Houston Food Bank
September is Hunger Action Month, and Houston Food Bank is spotlighting the growing challenge of food insecurity with this year’s theme, “The Cost of a Meal.” Throughout the month, Houstonians can get involved by donating, volunteering, advocating and learning more about the issues that make nutritious food harder to afford.

Little Woodrow’s will host Oktoberfest celebrations featuring seasonal beers, German-inspired food dachshund races, pretzel-eating contests, stein-hoisting competitions and at locations across Houston through October 10, with
Fall Flavors at Nothing Bundt Cakes
Nothing Bundt Cakes brings back its Biscoff Cookie Butter Cake and debuts its Apple Pie Cake Pop-Up. The Biscoff cake is available through October 11, while the Apple Pie Cake, made with cinnamon apples and brown sugar streusel, is available through September 27. Both flavors are part of the bake shop’s “10 Million Bites of Joy” celebration, running through October 4 with free cake giveaways, in-bakery samples and community events.
